If you're familiar with the On Cloud brand, you’ve probably heard of their latest release, the Cloudsurfer Next. Launched on August 2nd, this shoe strikes a perfect balance between the well-known Cloudsurfer and the Cloud Go. On has retained many of the key features that made the original Cloudsurfer a favorite but has refined them to create a lighter, more responsive shoe. Let's dive into what makes the Cloudsurfer Next stand out.
Upper Construction: The Cloudsurfer Next features a woven mesh upper that offers excellent ventilation, ensuring breathability throughout your run. While keeping the shoe lightweight, On has also incorporated strategic taping and overlays to provide added structure and support. A notable enhancement is the wider toe box, which allows more room for your toes to splay naturally, enhancing comfort during runs or daily wear.
Midsole Innovation: The midsole of the Cloudsurfer Next has seen significant upgrades. On has introduced their signature CloudTec® Phase technology, which gives the shoe a smooth, rocking sensation underfoot. This is paired with their Helion™ Superfoam midsole, known for its lightweight and responsive qualities. However, On has lowered the stack height, resulting in a 30 mm heel stack and a 24 mm toe stack, creating a 6 mm drop. This lower stack height gives the shoe a firmer, more responsive feel, providing greater stability compared to the original Cloudsurfer.
Whether you're doing tempo runs, intervals, or long-distance training, the Cloudsurfer Next is versatile enough to meet your needs. Its combination of cushioning and responsiveness makes it a great choice for runners looking for a shoe that can adapt to different types of workouts.
